Little Audio Update (1.1)


1.1 Update - Audio

Hi all - blubberbaleen, the sound designer, here. I've made some tweaks to the executable version of SuperSubSim that adds a bit more life to the soundworld, and a couple of little fixes like map bounds (which meant some people were able to go over 0m depth, oops). This includes adding more fish, meaning more ambient sound as they move and communicate, fixing some frankly shoddy bubble loops in the cave and adding some more complexity to the background ocean soundtrack. I've also made a script that relates sound propagation and pitch to the size of the visual asset dynamically, so the differences in scale between the different bits of the map sound different, too. I also made some new optimisation scripts to pause playback outside of earshot and an overhaul of the way I manage audio processing within the scripts, so it should also be a bit smoother too. All in all, it's small changes but I think the world feels a little more full. Feedback always welcome 🐳

PS This should not be considered the entry to the Jamulator, since it was updated after the closing date: the regular one, SuperSubSimWindows, is the actual entry.
